The Beginning of the End

It’s somewhat interesting that I’ve started a blog just as my college career is ending. Just think how much growth this blog would have had over the course of three years. It would have shown that I was scared yet ambitious to start college, excited to meet people but completely nervous. It would have shown the many disappointments and failures I grappled with and all the heartbreaks that I endured. In the end, at this point, to this very day, it would have shown that I’m sure as hell not ready to leave Mama Purdue.

I’ve begun to love working at the Exponent (Purdue’s Independent Student Newspaper). I can add my own spin to happenings on campus, present what I think and make somewhat of an impact on this campus. Unfortunately, many students and professors think that The Exponent is an inaccurate paper. Yes, we do have an occasional typo and I think we’ve been accused of misspelling names but despite our lack of a journalism school we pump out a full fledge newspaper every business day. I think that says a lot.

This semester is going to be tough considering I’m taking 21 credits, working as a senior staff editor and trying my hand at a serious relationship. All in all I’m cautiously optimistic that this semester is going action-packed.

  1. i like reading the exponent. I mean it is understandable that there would be some mistake given that it is a student newspaper. But all in all, I think it is a pretty accurate and professional newspaper.
